The game remained close through three quarters, as the return of DeMarcus Cousins, who was out with an Achilles injury, kept the Kings in the game. However, the Spurs dominated the fourth quarter, winning the period 34-19 and pulling away.
Kawhi Leonard continues to lead the way for San Antonio to start the season, as he finished with a game-high 24 points on an efficient 10-of-13 shooting in 32 minutes. Tim Duncan added a double-double of 11 points and 14 rebounds in just 23 minutes. LaMarcus Aldridge fell just short of a double-double, recording 16 points and nine rebounds in 26 minutes.
For the Kings, Cousins returned in a big way, recording 21 points and 12 rebounds in 32 minutes, but shot just 5-of-20 from the field.
