Dinwiddie was intriguing prospect coming out of Colorado in 2014, but inconsistent shooting prevented him from gaining a foothold with the Pistons in his two seasons with the club. He was traded to the Bulls last June, but was waived less than a month later before re-signing with the team. Dinwiddie entered training camp on the outside looking in for a spot as the Bulls’ third point guard, but his excellent outing Thursday may have bought him some goodwill. Even so, he’ll probably need to replicate this kind of scoring night at least a couple more times in the preseason in order to secure a roster spot over Isaiah Canaan.
