CHICAGO— The Chicago Sky have acquired forward Keisha Hampton, from the
Minnesota Lynx in exchange for their 2017 second round draft pick,
forward/center Chantel Osahor, from the University of Washington.
“Keisha Hampton, is a consistent shooter from all areas of the floor. She has
the ability to stretch the defense and open up the floor for our inside
players,” said General Manager and Head Coach, Amber Stocks. “She is versatile
and she fits a need we have for our current roster.”
Hampton, a 6’2 forward, was selected by the Seattle Storm as the 22nd overall
pick in the 2012 WNBA Draft. Hampton went on to play overseas in the Isreali
Women’s League for Bnot Hertzeliya appearing in 25 games in the 2015-16 season,
averaging a team-high 17.8 points per game.
In 2016, Hampton was signed to the Lynx as an unrestricted free agent where she
played in 27 games. She had a career high 13 points against Indiana and shot 33%
from the field from both 2 and 3 point range over the season as well as 87% from
the free throw line. At the completion of the 2016 WNBA season Hampton returned
to Bnot Hertzeliya in Israel where she appeared in 19 games, averaging 19.8
points.
Prior to playing professional basketball, Hampton attended DePaul University
where she played under Coach Doug Bruno. She was named a 2011-12 first-team
preseason All-American player by Sporting News, Athalon and College Sports
Madness. Hampton played on the USA National World University Games Team in 2011,
and was a State Farm/WBCA All-America honorable mention as a junior.
