Sixers coach Brett Brown gave both Rodriguez and T.J. McConnell turns with the top unit in both halves, so it seems as though an Opening Night starter still hasn’t been determined. Rodriguez outperformed McConnell in the preseason finale, but McConnell’s superior defense and sound passing may ultimately prove to be the difference in the job battle. No matter who emerges as the starter, both figure to see a roughly even split of all the minutes at point guard with Jerryd Bayless (wrist) expected to miss most of the first month of the season, if not longer.
