The Minnesota Timberwolves are hoping to carry momentum from Saturday’s win into Monday’s road game against the Charlotte Hornets.
The Wolves go into the game with a 20-43 record, good for 13th in the West.
The Hornets are 33-28, holding onto the sixth spot in the East.

Coming Off Of…
The Wolves are coming off of a 132-118 home win on Saturday over the Brooklyn Nets. Karl-Anthony Towns led the way with 28 points, seven assists, six rebounds, three blocks and two steals. Andrew Wiggins had a solid game as well, finishing with 26 points and six assists. Zach LaVine added 21 points. Ricky Rubio had the team’s only double-double, finishing with 16 points, 10 assists, seven rebounds and two steals. Shabazz Muhammad led the second unit with 15 points.
The Hornets are coming off of a 108-101 home win over the Indiana Pacers on Friday. Kemba Walker led the way with 33 points and 10 assists. Nicolas Batum added 31 points and seven rebounds. Jefferson led the second unit with 13 points.
Last Matchup:
The two teams last played all the way back on Nov. 10 at the Target Center. Charlotte came away with a 104-95 win thanks to 19 bench points from Jeremy Lin. Jeremy Lamb added 18 off the bench, shooting 8-for-10 from the field. Batum led starters with 17 points. Cody Zeller and Walker finished with 14 and 10 points, respectively.
LaVine led the Wolves with 20 points. Towns added 19 points and 13 rebounds. Kevin Martin and Adreian Payne finished with 18 and 10 points, respectively. Nemanja Bjelica led the bench with 13 points.
Key Matchup: Ricky Rubio vs. Kemba Walker
Rubio will have his hands full against one of the better offensive point guards in the game on Monday night.
Walker is averaging a career-high 21 points to go with 5.2 assists and 4.4 rebounds. He’s shooting a career-high 43 percent from the field and 37 percent from the 3-point line.
Rubio is no slouch defensively, averaging 2.1 steals per game. He’s also averaging 10.1 points, 8.7 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game. He’s making a career-high 83.7 percent from his shots from the free-throw line.

Hornets: Spencer Hawes (back) and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (shoulder) are out.
Wolves: Nikola Pekovic (foot), Nemanja Bjelica (foot) and Kevin Garnett (knee) are out.
