Russell Westbrook: Falls assist shy of triple-double in opener

Westbrook provided an alluring glimpse of what the post-Kevin Durant era might look like for his fantasy prospects, as the point guard parlayed an elevated usage rate into team-high totals in both points and assists, and the second-place contributor in those categories wasn’t really close. While Westbrook had no trouble reeling off triple-doubles when Durant was around, those well-rounded stat lines figure to become even more gaudy in nature this season, particularly in the scoring column. The added offensive responsibilities figure to translate to more turnovers as well, but Westbrook did a commendable job on that front in the opener, giving the ball away just twice.
