Below is a running diary of the Lakers’ matchup against the Golden State Warriors, with comments drawn from Mike Trudell’s @LakersReporter Twitter account, to ensure you’re covered from start to finish.
First Quarter
Getting close to tip here in Oakland. It’s a rabid crowd (even more than usual) anticipating the Warriors’ push for a 16-0 start.
The Warriors went on an 18-2 run until Larry Nance, Jr. got a put back dunk. LAL just 4 of 16 against this terrific GSW defense. 25-9 GSW.
Brandon Bass didn’t get back out to defend Curry on a loose ball, and he rose to hit the 6th GSW 3 of the 1st Q. Warriors up 30-11.
Second Quarter
Kobe’s first bucket tonight was a 3-pointer, after he’d missed his first 5 shots. Russell added his 3rd FG with LAL trailing 34-16.
D’Angelo Russell (8 points) hit his 4th FG in 7 attempts (and 2nd in transition) after Randle’s make, to make it 51-34 GSW.
LAL got the final 4 points of the half, Randle’s bucket + a Bass putback. 27-24 LAL in the 2nd Q as GSW leads 54-38 thx to their big 1st Q.

Third Quarter
Kobe has had no legs at all tonight, and he’s now 1 for 13, the Warriors using the last few misses to go on a run and reclaim a 67-44 lead.
LAL were within 14 at the 9:16 mark, but it’s been all GSW since, Kobe missing 5 shots in a stretch GSW built up to get to a 75-48 lead.
Warriors up 89-55 after 3 Q’s. Their starters likely done for the night, Curry with 24+9, Green 18+7+5.
