McGruder’s injury doesn’t seem like a significant one and probably won’t affect his status for a roster spot. Though he entered training camp as an underdog to claim a roster berth, McGruder likely clinched his spot with a pair of double-digit scoring outings during his eight preseason appearances, highlighted by a 19-point game Thursday against the Hornets. The 25-year-old is unlikely to begin the season with a rotation role, however, if he’s indeed made the team.
