Rodney Hood: Carves up Blazers for 26 points in opener

The Jazz leaned heavily on their backcourt for offense in the opener with starters Hood, George Hill and Joe Johnson all playing 30-plus minutes and attempting at least 16 shots apiece. Hood led the way with 18 attempts and figures to continue seeing a primary role in the Jazz attack while Gordon Hayward (finger) remains sidelined until about mid-November. Though the 6-foot-8 Hood profiles as a lengthy, rangy defender on the perimeter, he doesn’t make much of an impact in the non-offensive fantasy categories. Still, he’ll produce enough points and three-pointers to compensate for it.
