Sacre has only played in one of the Pelicans’ three preseason games and likely wouldn’t have seen the court if he happened to be healthy for Sunday’s contest, as coach Alvin Gentry tightened his rotation and played only 10 players. With Alexis Ajinca and Omer Asik ahead of him on the depth chart at center and Anthony Davis more than capable of sliding over from power forward to play the position when necessary, it’s unlikely that Sacre will earn a spot on the 15-man roster when preseason play concludes.
