Robert Covington: Double-doubles in Thursday defeat

Covington’s scoring total was his best since Feb. 25, a game that also marked
his most recent double-double before Thursday’s effort. The fourth-year pro is
sporting a 21.8 percent usage rate since the trades of Nerlens Noel and Ersan
Ilyasova and has taken double-digit shot attempts in 13 of the last 14 contests,
draining multiple three-pointers in 11 of those games. Covington’s long-distance
shooting does make up a notable part of his fantasy production, but he’s also
putting in solid work in other categories. His 6.3 rebounds per game equal the
career high he set last season, while his 1.6 assists, 1.0 blocks and 1.9 steals
are also high-water marks for the 26-year-old.
