The Sacramento Kings and Memphis Grizzlies are working to finalize a trade that will send guard Ben McLemore back to the Kings for veteran guard/forward Garrett Temple. According to multiple reports, the Grizzlies will send McLemore and center Deyonta Davis to the Kings for Temple, who has played eight seasons in the NBA.
In addition, per multiple reports, the Kings are getting a future second-round pick in the deal and may also get cash in the trade, too. Here’s more from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski on the proposed trade:
The Sacramento Kings are trading guard Garrett Temple to the Memphis Grizzlies for guard Ben McLemore, forward Deyonta Davis, cash and a 2021 second-round draft pick, league sources told ESPN.
The teams are setting up a trade call with the league office on Tuesday to make the deal official, league sources said.
Temple, 32, gives the Grizzlies one more versatile, veteran wing as they reshape the roster to try and return to the Western Conference playoffs this season.

The deal clears an additional an additional $1 million in salary cap space for the Kings, who now have $20.5 million.
McLemore was taken No. 7 overall by the Kings in the 2013 Draft and spent his first four seasons in Sacramento, averaging 9.4 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game in that span. He opted to sign with the Grizzlies in free agency last summer, but averaged a career-low 7.5 ppg and played in just 56 games.
Temple spent the last two seasons with the Kings, averaging 8.1 ppg and 2.6 rpg as a veteran player on a mostly young Kings squad. If the trade the Memphis goes through, he will join a Grizzlies roster that should feature a healthy Marc Gasol and Mike Conley as well as lottery pick Jaren Jackson Jr.
Davis went No. 31 overall in the 2016 draft and. He appeared in 62 games for Memphis last season, averaging 5.8 ppg and 2.8 rpg in 15.2 minutes per game.
