Report: Kings Hiring Monte McNair As Head Of Basketball Operations

The Sacramento Kings are hiring Houston Rockets assistant general manager Monte McNair as their new head of basketball operations, according to Shams Charania and Sam Amick of The Athletic.

McNair has worked in the Rockets’ front office since 2007, most recently as the assistant general manager under Daryl Morey. McNair was promoted into the assistant GM role in 2018.

A Princeton graduate, McNair has an extensive analytics background and has been a speaker at the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference.

The Kings parted ways with former GM Vlade Divac after the season.
