Indiana Pacers center Domantas Sabonis has suffered a significant foot injury, and is leaving the NBA campus in Orlando to seek treatment from a specialist, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Sabonis, who has been trying to play through plantar fasciitis on his left foot, is hopeful to eventually rejoin the team in Orlando, but he could miss the rest of the season, reports Wojnarowski.
A first-time All-Star this season, Sabonis was averaging 18.5 points, 12.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists for the Pacers, who are currently tied with the Philadelphia 76ers for the fifth-best record in the East playoff race.
