Jackson isn’t even expected to be cleared for basketball activities for four-to-six weeks, but a return at the start of December or at the beginning of January falls in line with his original six-to-eight week timetable for a return. He’s expected to go through platelet-rich plasma injections for treatment rather than undergoing surgery, which means he’ll spend the start of the regular season going through a heavy dose of rest and recovery. Ish Smith is expected to open the season with the top unit and should see considerable increases in his numbers across the board while Jackson is on the shelf. With that said, we should see Jackson’s status updated once he’s able to resume basketball activities, which will give us a better indication of when he could potentially make his season debut.
