Jackson is having his troublesome left knee treated with the injection as well, so he’ll spend the next 6-to-8 weeks recovering from both ailments. The knee is considered the more pressing issue, though Jackson was hampered by the thumb for much of last season, and the discomfort lingered into training camp. At this point, the Pistons are hoping to have Jackson back sometime in late November or early December. In the meantime, the Pistons have reportedly been shopping for another point guard, though it’s unclear if they’re intent on making a move. Ish Smith is currently penciled in as the opening night starter.
