The Lakers are proud to open enrollment for the 16th Annual Lakers Reading Challenge, a recreational reading incentive program designed to encourage elementary school students to read outside of their regular schoolwork. The initiative is part of the Lakers READ TO ACHIEVE presented by Jack in the Box program which focuses on literacy and instilling the joy of reading in Los Angeles youth.
Registration will be open from October 3, 2016 to November 4, 2016. All participating classrooms must be registered by the closing date in order to participate in the challenge.
Each teacher will be responsible for his or her own classroom's registration, participation and recording. If more than one teacher from a school would like to participate in the Reading Challenge, please designate one contact as the person to receive the Challenge materials. The materials will be sent to the school to their attention and they will be responsible for distribution to the other classrooms. Please discuss internally who will be the contact person prior to registering.
*A school administrator or teacher may register as the school's contact person even if they do not have a classroom or their classroom will not be participating in the program. They will need to register themselves and designate themselves as the school's contact person on the registration webpage.
If you have any questions, please contact Alison Tolladay at (310) 426-6003.
