RDS is proud to announce that it will broadcast a selection of NBA Playoff games this spring across its network, including all TORONTO RAPTORS games and every game of the NBA FINALS. Up to 28 matchups will be broadcast in French, from Saturday, April 14, through mid-June.
“We’re delighted to offer Quebec NBA fans the possibility of following the TORONTO RAPTORS’ playoff run in French,” said Gerry Frappier, President, French-language TV and RDS, Bell Media. “This association with a prestigious partner like the NBA is an important addition to our 2018 programming. We hope that we will be able to increase the number of Quebec basketball fans by providing viewers with the opportunity to admire the exceptional talent of the NBA’s biggest stars, including LeBron James, Kevin Durant, DeMar DeRozan and James Harden.”
“We’re thrilled to partner with RDS to bring the excitement and drama of the NBA Playoffs and Finals to our fans in Quebec. The opportunity to broadcast marquee match-ups in French compliments our ongoing plans to bring more NBA events, players and activations to the province,” said Dan MacKenzie, Vice President & Managing Director, NBA Canada.
Broadcast team
Mathieu Jolivet and Alexandre Tourigny will share play-by-play duties for all NBA playoff games. The analysis team will include William Archambault and Maxime Paulhus-Gosselin – both former teammates of Stephen Curry at Davidson College in the NCAA – along with basketball insider Peter Yannopoulos.
With stars DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry leading the way, the RAPTORS are enjoying the best season in franchise history. With a strong grip on first place in the Eastern Conference, Canada’s team has high hopes of going deep in the playoffs as it looks to win the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy – handed to the winner of the NBA Finals – for the first time ever.
