The Sevens received a considerable roster boost on Tuesday, when it was announced that Jordan McRae will be coming back to the club. A second-round acquisition of the 76ers in the June 2014 NBA Draft, McRae is fresh off back-to-back 10-day contract stints with Phoenix. He appeared in seven games for the Suns, generating 5.3 points and 1.4 assists in 11.8 minutes per contest. McRae has done well for himself in his second NBADL campaign. He earned a spot on the league’s Eastern Conference All-Star roster, and his 23.1 points per game average ranks fourth among all NBADL players. In McRae’s most recent outing with the Sevens, the four-year Tennessee product delivered a blistering display, bursting for NBADL-record 61 points (21-34 fg, 16-18 ft). He also tallied 11 rebounds, and seven assists.McRae’s return occurs at a welcomed time for the Sevens, as they conclude a pivotal three-game series with Atlantic Division rival Maine on Friday. The Sevens entered this stretch, which began on the heels of the All-Star Game break, one and half games behind the first-place Red Claws, but dropped the first two meetings in this set by scores of 127-109 and 132-107, respectively.Sean Kilpatrick, one of two Sevens occupying the top two spots on the latest NBADL prospect rankings list, paced the 87ers in scoring in both contests versus Maine. He posted 24 points (9-23 fg) on Friday, and followed that effort up with a 29-point showing (11-22) on Saturday. The former Cincinnati Bearcat went undrafted in 2014, and, as of Tuesday, was tied for the NBADL lead in scoring with an average of 26.5 points per game. Checking in on a couple members of the Sevens’ frontcourt, Christian Wood, who was with the Sixers for the first month of the season, netted 15 points in each of his two appearances back from the All-Star break. He posted a double-double on Friday. And Rodney Carney, the Sixers’ 2006 first-round pick up, remains a regular member of head coach Kevin Young’s rotation. He combined for 23 points (9-15 fg) and 10 rebounds over the past week. InternationalOverseas, Dario Saric and Anadolu endured a stinging one-point upset loss to Pinar Karsiyaka last Wednesday in the opening round of the Turkish Basketball Federation Cup. Saric contributed 14 points and seven rebounds in the 67-66, one-game elimination defeat. Saric and Efes will resume Turkish Basketball Super League and Euroleague competition later this week. Efes is 14-4 in TBSL action, and 9-8 in Euroleague play. Coincidentally, Efes will jump back into the Euroleague circuit on Friday against KK Crvena Zvezda, the team to which Vasilije Micic belongs. Micic was a second round selection of the Sixers in 2014, the same year the organization obtained Saric. The Serbian point guard accounts for 5.6 points and 4.6 assists in 16.6 minutes per game for the KLS (Serbia) affiliate.
