Prospect Watch: 2/17/2016

Throughout the season, this series will provide regular updates on the progress of Sixers’ prospects playing both overseas and with the team’s NBA Development League affiliate, the Delaware 87ers. InternationalIn two appearances over the past week, Dario Saric performed well.  Last Friday, in Anadolu Efes’ 83-78 Euroleague setback to Olympic Indoor Hall, the 6’9,” 223-pound forward finished with 18 points, six rebounds, and team-best 22 player index rating.  The scoring output was Saric’s highest since he dropped 20 points in a Turkish Basketball Super League contest back in early January.  Here’s a highlight package from the match-up:Saric followed up Friday’s efforts by posting 11 points in Efes’ 92-87 TBSL victory over Banvit Kara Ali Acar Sport Hall on Monday.  It was his third consecutive double-figure showing.  The 21-year old forward also added six rebounds and two assists in the win, which snapped Efes’ season-long three-game losing streak that encompassed both TBSL and Euroleague play.  Between these two recent outings, Saric combined to convert 11 of his 19 field goal attempts.  Although he knocked down just two of nine three-point tries, he did, conversely, sink all but one of his 10 shots from two-point territory.  Per realgm.com, Saric is manufacturing 10.78 points and 5.47 rebounds in just under 22 minutes per game.  He’s shooting 49.4 percent from the floor, and has gone 31 for 86 from beyond the arc (36.0 3fg%).  Saric remains on pace for a career-best 115.9 offensive rating this year.  His 105.9 defensive rating is slightly elevated from last season, which was his first with Efes. Last Thursday, Vasilije Micic flirted with a double-double.  The point guard, whose rights were obtained by the Sixers in the second round of the 2014 draft, came off the bench to produce 14 points, nine assists, and four rebounds in KK Crvena Zvezda’s 20-point victory over Cedevita in Serbian KLS competition.  He was particularly effective from the perimeter, draining three triples.  Micic then tallied eight points (1-6 fg, 1-5 3fg), five boards, and three steals on Sunday.  Delaware 87ersThe Delaware 87ers (17-16) return to action on Friday, February 19th, when they start a critical three-game series against Maine.  The Sevens sit just 1.5 games behind the first-place Red Claws in the Atlantic Division standings of the NBA Development League’s Eastern Conference.  While the Sevens have been idle since February 9th as a result of the NBADL’s All-Star Game break, two of the team’s top three scorers, guards Sean Kilpatrick and Jordan McRae, participated in the exhibition itself, held this past Saturday at Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto.  Kilpatrick, who’s averaging for 26.5 points per game this season, netted 13 points (5-11 fg, 1-5 3fg) in 18 minutes.   Jordan McRae, a 23.1 points per game scorer this year, played 14 minutes, and ended the afternoon with seven points (3-6 fg) and five assists.  Kilpatrick and McRae both received starting assignments in the All-Star Game.  Kilpatrick was ranked third on the latest edition of the NBADL Prospect Watch.  His teammate, Russ Smith, checked in at number one on the list.
