Sacramento came up just short in a comeback effort against the New Orleans Pelicans on Thursday night, falling 114-105.
Just before the game, Kings center DeMarcus Cousins was officially selected as a reserve for the Western Conference All-Star team, marking his second-consecutive nod for the All-Star Game.
Cousins went on to record a double-double against New Orleans, notching 26 points and a team-high 10 rebounds.
Kings floor general Rajon Rondo also posted a double-double with 17 points and 15 assists. In addition, guard Ben McLemore dropped a season-high 26 points on the night, including five makes from three-point range.
With its sights set on ending a three-game skid, Sactown takes on a Memphis squad that topped the Kings earlier this season in Sacramento, 103-89, as forward Zach Randolph tallied 20 points and 11 rebounds, while helping to limit the purple and black to less than 40 percent from the field.
Saturday’s outing will be the second of three encounters between the pair this season.
