Playoff Tune-In Tidbits: 6 September

Get ready for Sunday’s ABC playoff doubleheader with five key stats to know about each matchup.

Game 4: Milwaukee Bucks vs. Miami Heat (MIA Leads 3-0), 3:30 ET

  • The Heat made 17 3-pointers in Game 2 and 18 3-pointers in Game 3 of this series. Miami went 10-2 during the regular season and are 3-0 in the playoffs when they make at least 17 3-pointers in a game.
  • Giannis Antetokounmpo is listed as questionable for Game 4 with an ankle sprain. This season the Bucks are 5-5 without Antetokounmpo in the lineup; they won their first five games without him, but have lost their last five without the reigning MVP in the lineup.
  • In six minutes of clutch time in this series, Jimmy Butler has scored 12 points on 3-3 FG, 1-1 3P and 5-6 FT; the Heat have outscored the Bucks by 13 points in those six minutes.

  • James Harden posted his league-leading sixth 30-point game of the playoffs in Game 1 as he finished with 36 points on 12-20 FG, 3-6 3P. Harden’s 6 3-point attempts in Game 1 were his lowest mark of the playoffs; during the regular season he only had five games with six or fewer 3-point attempts as he averaged a league-high 12.4 per game.
  • In 2:04 of matchup time against Anthony Davis, James Harden scored 8 points on 2-2 FG, 1-1 3P, 3-4 FT as he drew 2 shooting fouls. Harden scored 7 points on 3-5 FG against both Danny Green (team-high 4:29 matchup time) and LeBron James (1:07 matchup time).
  • PJ Tucker defended Anthony Davis for a team-high 4:29 and held Davis to 2 points on just 2 field goal attempts. Davis did the bulk of his scoring against James Harden, who defended him for 3:36 in Game 1. Davis had 11 points on 5-7 FG, 1-1 3P against Harden.
  • LeBron James scored 20 points in 37 minutes in the Lakers’ Game 1 loss. In the regular and playoffs combined, the Lakers have gone 47-10 when LeBron scores more than 20 points and 9-11 when he scores 20 or less.
  • The Rockets have the top-ranked defense of the playoffs, allowing just 101.4 points per 100 possessions in eight games. During the regular season, the Rockets ranked 15th in defense at 109.8 points allowed per 100 possessions.
