- The first two games of this series have been played at the fastest pace of any series in these playoffs, with an average of 105.25 possessions per 48 minutes. This is a Bucks pace. During the regular season, the Bucks led the league in pace at 105.51, while the Magic ranked 26th at 98.99.
Indiana Pacers vs. Miami Heat (MIA Leads 2-0), 3:30 ET
- Duncan Robinson is coming off a 7-8 shooting performance from 3-point range in Miami’s Game 2 win. For the series, all 16 of Robinson’s shot attempts have come from three; he is shooting 56.3% (4th in playoffs) from beyond the arc, including 8-13 (61.5%) on catch-and-shoot threes.
- In four regular season meetings, the Pacers held the Heat to 35.7% shooting from beyond the arc. In the first two games of this series, that mark has risen to 44.3%. This could be a case of good shooting beating good defense as the Pacers have contested 3-point shots at nearly the same rate during the series (70.1%) as they did in the regular season (71.4%).
- The Pacers have the second-highest turnover percentage in the playoffs at 16.9% through two games, which is a significant drop-off from their fifth-ranked turnover percentage of 13.2% during the regular season. The Heat have taken advantage of Indiana’s mistakes, averaging 20.0 points off turnovers in the series.
- Malcolm Brogdon leads the Pacers in scoring (19.5 PPG) and assists (9.5 APG) over the first two games of the series with Miami. However, Brogdon is shooting just 31.3% from the field and 25% from three, which are significant drop-offs from the regular season (43.8 FG%, 32.6 3P%).
- In the first two games of the series, the Heat have outscored the Pacers by 42 points in Bam Adebayo’s 67 minutes on the court. Adebayo is averaging 12.0 points, 7.5 rebonds and 5.0 assists; only eight other players in the playoffs have hit those averages. Adebayo leads that group in blocks (2.0) and is the only player in the group without a turnover.
Houston Rockets vs. Oklahoma City Thunder (HOU Leads 2-0), 6:00 ET
- The Rockets took Game 2 despite an off shooting night from James Harden, who went 5-16 (31.3%) from the field and 2-11 (18.2%) from three. This season, the Rockets have gone just 4-11 when Harden is held to fewer than three 3-pointers made.
- While the Rockets’ starting backcourt of James Harden and Eric Gordon combined to shoot 2-21 (9.5%) from 3-point range in Game 2, the rest of the Rockets combined to shoot 17-35 (48.6%) from deep to keep the Rockets in the game.
- The Rockets ranked second in first-quarter scoring during the regular season at 29.5 points per game. During the playoffs, that mark has risen to a league-leading 31.5 as Houston averages a 6.5 point lead after the first 12 minutes of play.
- The Thunder are looking to avoid their first three-game losing streak since last November, when they dropped three straight to the teams from Los Angeles (Clippers once, Lakers twice) by a total of 10 points.
- Danilo Gallinari is averaging a team-best 23 points on 48.3% shooting from the field and 37.5% from 3-point range. Robert Covington has defended Gallinari for team-high 7:13 of defensive matchup time and allowed only 3 points on 1-1 shooting from three. Gallinari has scored most of his points against Jeff Green (7 PTS on 3-5 FG in 4:48) and James Harden (6 PTS on 2-4 3P in 2:03).

- The Lakers took Game 2, 111-88, despite getting just 10 points from LeBron James. This was only the fourth time in his playoff career (241 games) that LeBron has failed to score more than 10 points. This was the first win under those circumstances.
- As a team, the Blazers shot just 8-29 (27.6%) from beyond the arc in Game 2. This season, the Blazers are 2-6 when they make eight 3-pointers or fewer.
- Damian Lillard scored 18 points on 6-14 FG, 1-7 3P in 30 minutes before suffering a dislocated finger. It was Lillard’s lowest scoring game since March 7 (12 PTS vs. SAC); since the NBA restart (including seeding games, play-in game and Game 1 of the playoffs), Lillard averaged 36.6 points per game.
- The Lakers are generating 19 wide open 3-point shots per game (closest defender six or more feet away) during the series, but are shooting just 26.3% on those wide-open looks. By comparison, the Blazers are shooting 38.1% on their 10.5 wide-open 3s per game in the series.
