I went to bed before last night’s Golden State Warriors and Portland Trail Blazers ended. If I remember right, there were about six minutes left in the first half.
(In my defense, I played two games of softball before, so I was mentally and emotionally drained.)
At one point in that half, the Blazers were up by 17. My roommate and I were hoping for an upset to tie this sucker at 1-1. But right when the Blazers got up, I looked at my roommate and said, ‘You know the Warriors are just going to come back and win this game, right?’
And of course that happened. Draymond Green was slinging passes like he was Ozzie Smith. Klay Thompson hit five 3-pointers and had a game-high 27 points.
If you’re the Blazers, you’re pretty disheartened right now. This was your game to steal in Golden State. No Steph Curry. Up 17 points. You gotta close on that.
Now we head to Portland and the Warriors have a 2-0 lead with the possibility of Curry returning.
Eh, good luck, Portland.
Two years ago, I was pretty much convinced the D-Wade we all knew and love was done. He looked old and had gotten beaten up through the years in sacrificing his body for free throws. But well, hot diggity.
He’s back!
Wade finished with 24 points, six rebounds and four assists last night, including a clutch steal in overtime, followed by a fake pass and a near career-ruining throw down on DeMarre Carroll.
Kyle Lowry hit a rainbow half-court heave to send the game into overtime, but Lowry was pretty miserable all night, finishing with just seven points while shooting 3-for-13 from the field and 1-for-7 from the 3-point line.
This isn’t a good look for the Raptors. They were taken into seven games by the Indiana Pacers and now here they are getting beat by the Heat at home.
There’s a very real chance we could see the Wade vs. James Eastern Conference Finals we’ve all wanted.
Wouldn’t it be something if Chris Bosh joined that party?
