Pistons Dominate Knicks, 112-92

The Detroit Pistons defeated the New York Knicks, 112-92, at Palace at Auburn
Hills on Saturday evening. The Knicks (26-40) put together a balanced offensive
effort and tallied success rates north of 40 percent from both the field and
three-point range. However, a pair of spectacular performances from Tobias
Harris and Andre Drummond, along with some solid defense overall, helped
neutralize those accomplishments. The Pistons (33-33) caused 18 turnovers,
didn’t allow an individual point total higher than 18 and limited New York to
just 11 points in the fourth quarter overall. Porzingis paced the Knicks with 18
points, which he supplemented with six rebounds, four assists and six blocks.
Willy Hernangomez posted a near double-double of 14 points, nine rebounds, three
assists and one steal. Courtney Lee and Carmelo Anthony posted matching 13-point
efforts, with the former adding seven rebounds, five assists and one steal, and
the latter providing four assists and one rebound. Derrick Rose registered 11
points, two rebounds, two assists and one steal. Chasson Randle generated 12
points and three assists to lead the bench. Harris’ 28 points led the way for
the visitors, a total he complemented with seven rebounds, five assists and two
blocks. Drummond managed a massive 24-point, 15-rebound double-double that also
included three steals and one block. Reggie Jackson went for 19 points, eight
assists, three rebounds, one steal and one block. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
totaled nine points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals. Jon Leuer
led the second unit with 11 points and three rebounds. The Knicks tangle with
their intrastate rival Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center on Sunday evening, while
the Pistons visit the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday night.
