The Indiana Pacers defeated the Detroit Pistons, 115-98, at Bankers Life
Fieldhouse on Wednesday evening. The Pacers (33-31) have had difficulty finding
any measure of consistency overall, with one notable exception — their
performance at home. Indiana has managed a 21-10 record at Bankers Life
Fieldhouse heading into Wednesday, and the trend of superior play in their
familiar digs held true once again versus the Pistons (31-33). Paul George led
the way with 21 points, 13 of which came in the third quarter, eight rebounds
and two assists over 29 minutes, while five other Pacers also posted double
digits in the scoring column. It was an outstanding shooting night all around
for Indiana, as they managed respective success rates of 50 percent and 47.8
percent from the field and three-point range, respectively. Tobias Harris paced
Detroit with 22 points off the bench, which he supplemented with five rebounds
and one assist. Stanley Johnson was next with 17 points, five rebounds, two
assists, one steal and one block off the second unit as well. Jon Leuer tallied
15 points, four rebounds and one assist. Andre Drummond turned in a 14-point,
15-rebound double-double that also included one assist and two steals. Maurice
Morris supplied 10 points, two assists, one rebound and one block. Thaddeus
Young snapped a five-game streak of single-digit scoring efforts by checking in
second behind George with 18 points, eight rebounds and one steal. C.J. Miles
was next with 15 points, two assists and one rebound. Monta Ellis led the bench
with 12 points and three assists over just 14 minutes. Glenn Robinson III was
right behind him, registering 11 points, four rebounds and only one steal in
just eight minutes. Jeff Teague provided 10 points, six assists and five
rebounds. The Pistons make the quick trip back home to face the Cleveland
Cavaliers on Thursday evening, while the Pacers travel to Milwaukee to face off
with the Bucks on Friday night.
