Pacers Defeat Grizzlies, 102-92

The Indiana Pacers defeated the Memphis Grizzlies, 102-92, at FedEx Forum on
Friday. Despite this game being close throughout the first quarter, the Pacers
dominated the rest of the way. The second and third quarters were especially
decisive, outscoring the Grizzlies 64-42 in that 24-minute stretch. Free-throw
shooting really killed Memphis, as they went just 13-of-23, while the Pacers
went a perfect 11-of-11. Indiana also dominated the shooting, hitting 51 percent
of their shots, while holding Memphis to 41 percent. The Pacers also won the
rebounding differential, 50-39. The Grizzlies (34-25) have now lost three of
their last four games, as this was not how they wanted to start their stretch
run. Despite playing just 14 minutes off the bench, Troy Daniels led the team
with 13 points. Marc Gasol led the starters, as he accumulated 12 points, four
rebounds and four assists. Mike Conley finished with 10 points, five rebounds
and seven assists. Tony Allen accrued 11 points, seven rebounds and five steals.
On deck for the Grizzlies is a road matchup with the Denver Nuggets on Sunday.
The Pacers (30-28) had lost six-straight headed into this matchup, so a blowout
win is just what the doctor ordered. C.J. Miles led Indiana in scoring, as he
dropped 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting. Jeff Teague went just 2-of-8 from the
field, but totaled 10 points and 10 assists en route to a double-double. Monta
Ellis was a nice spark off the bench, providing 16 points and three assists. The
Pacers will be in action again on Saturday against the Miami Heat.
