Otto Porter: Scores eight points in preseason win

Porter’s statistics through two preseason games (13 points, nine rebounds in 45 minutes) aren’t atrocious, but the 23-year-old may be feeling some pressure for the starting small forward role nonetheless, as Kelly Oubre has been the Wizards’ best player thus far. After scoring 16 points in the preseason opener earlier this week, Oubre exploded for 24 points in Thursday’s contest, and seems to have closed the gap in his competition with Porter. It’s still expected that Porter will ultimately come away with the starting gig, but if Oubre continues to excel in the preseason, the playing time may be distributed more evenly between the two than initially anticipated.
