Orlando posts wire-to-wire victory over New York

The Orlando Magic defeated the New York Knicks, 84-73, in the Orlando Summer League at Amway Center on Wednesday.

The Magic (2-2) led throughout but never by more than 15 points, as it was a close game until the final minutes. Orlando hit 47 percent from the field and 43 percent from three-point range, while holding New York to 37 percent from the field and 29 percent from long distance. A 21-4 fastbreak advantage was the difference for the Magic.

Kalin Lucas led the way for Orlando, totaling 20 points, seven assists and three steals on 8-of-14 shooting. Center Przemek Karnowski totaled 14 points and five rebounds. Marcus Georges-Hunt provided 10 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals, while Hassan Martin had 12 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two blocks.

Jamel Artis led New York, posting 13 points, four rebounds and two assists on 5-of-7 shooting from the field. Ognjen Jaramaz led the bench with 12 points, two rebounds and two assists, going 9-of-9 from the free-throw line. Marshall Plumlee started at center and totaled nine points, nine rebounds and two assists.

The Knicks play the Miami Heat in the seven/eight-seed game Thursday, while the Magic play the Charlotte Hornets in the five/six matchup to cap off the Orlando Summer League.
