Omer Asik: Starts, but plays only 14 minutes in loss

Asik had seen more than 25 minutes in the Pelicans’ past two games, but despite returning to the starting five Monday, he ended up seeing his court time decrease. That was largely a byproduct of the Warriors’ decision to deploy Draymond Green as a small-ball center for large stretches of the game, a matchup that doesn’t favor the slow-footed Asik. Don’t expect Asik to log meaningful minutes against opponents that don’t rely heavily on a traditional back-to-the-basket big man.
