Olynyk underwent successful athroscopy surgery on his right shoulder Monday, Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe reports.

Olynyk underwent the procedure to fix recurrent subluxations, which are similar to dislocations in the fact that the bone dislodges from the shoulder socket. However with subluxations, it’s only temporary, and the bone usually pops back into place on its own within a short period of time. Despite the successful surgery, Olynyk still remains without a concrete timetable for return, although other players with similar injuries typically needed roughly five months to recover. That timeline would put his availability for the season opener into question, as well as his ability to play for Team Canada this summer as the 2016 Rio Olympics approach.
