NYK 102, PHX 84: Melo Nears Triple-Double in Rout

How it Happened

The Knicks swiped eight steals in the game’s opening six minutes and built an early 18-4 advantage, setting the tone for a comfortable 102-84 victory at The Garden on Friday night. Carmelo Anthony (knee) and Kristaps Porzingis (illness) returned to the lineup to help New York snap a four-game losing skid.

Arron Afflalo scored 17 points, 12 of which came in the first quarter.

Knick of the Night

Anthony missed out on a chance at a triple-double because the game was out of hand so early, but his impact in 30 minutes on the floor could not be denied. The All Star finished with 19 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals to help get his team back on track.
