In conjunction with the release of our All-Decade Team, we’ve decided to put together a list of superlatives based solely on real NBA basketball stats from the 2009-10 season through the end of last season (sorry Twitter, there’s no debating these real numbers).
A few takeaways from the decade superlatives:
- LeBron James and Kevin Durant scored at a gargantuan rate, with both players combining for 38,995 points (That’s more than the career point total of James Harden, Kyrie Irving and Kawhi Leonard combined).
- The Splash Bros. — Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson — unsurprisingly recorded the best 3-point percentage.
- DeMar DeRozan started more games than any other player in the league.
- Russell Westbrook and Chris Paul, two stars traded for each other this summer, are the only players to dish out at least 6,000 assists this decade.
- Tim Duncan, who’s been out of the NBA since 2016, still finished top 10 in total blocks.
