Mudiay Impresses During Rising Stars Challenge

The Rising Stars Challenge was filled with some of the best wide-open styled play from several of the most-talented rookies in the NBA.

The tone was set in the first few minutes as the World Team and United States Team went head-to-head scoring baskets right out of the gate. Audience eyes were on many talented, young NBA stars; one of those players was Nuggets G Emmanuel Mudiay.

“It was fun going out there and it kind of got a little competitive between me and Jordan (Clarkson) in the first half,” recalled Nuggets G Emmanuel Mudiay. “I think that kind of set the tone a little bit for everybody to get it going. It was definitely a good experience.”

Playing alongside Andrew Wiggins, the eventual MVP of the game, Mudiay scored 30 points and 10 rebounds in the World Team’s nail-biting 157-154 defeat.

“I’m disappointed we lost, but we knocked down some big shots down the stretch,” said Mudiay.

The 19-year-old’s first appearance during All-Star Weekend will be followed by a second when he enters the Skills Challenge set for 5:30PM MST on All-Star Saturday Night.
