Michael Kidd-Gilchrist: Puts in 23 points, 14 boards in opener

After shooting the ball poorly for most of the preseason, Kidd-Gilchrist got hot right away in the season opener and finished with one of the more well-rounded stat lines of his young career. He was aggressive on the offensive end right from the opening tip and didn’t let up, pacing the Hornets in both shot attempts and scoring for the evening. After he had nearly all of 2015-16 wiped out by a pair of shoulder surgeries, Kidd-Gilchrist likely plummeted down fantasy draft boards, but this performance should bring his name back to the forefront. While his outside shot still remains suspect, Kidd-Gilchrist offers elite rebounding from the small forward spot and could take on more scoring responsibility in his age-23 season, which could equate to career-best numbers.
