Morris sprained his left ankle during the first half of Game 1 on Saturday
against the Celtics and was unable to return to the floor. Although previously
claiming he would “definitely play” during Game 2, Morris appears to have taken
a step back in his recovery as he was unable to participate in Monday’s
practice. The Wizards could also be choosing to err on the side of caution and
allow Morris some extra rest before Tuesday’s matchup, but more information on
his status should be disclosed after Tuesday’s shootaround. If Morris is
ultimately held out for Game 2, Kelly Oubre and Otto Porter are probable
contenders to take up the bulk of minutes in Morris’ absence.
