Marcin Gortat: Dealing with strained glute

It’s unclear when the injury occurred, but the Wizards opted to hold him out of practice Sunday, as they wanted to avoid a further aggravation of the injury. The Wizards’ next preseason game is scheduled for Monday versus the Knicks, so it wouldn’t be surprising if Gortat was ultimately sidelined for that contest. We should see his status update after Monday morning’s shootaround, but if he doesn’t play, look for Ian Mahinmi to draw the start in his place.
