Mailbag: Jeff Answers Fan Questions

LOS ANGELES – Jeff Green now has three games under his belt with his new team as he adjusts to life in Los Angeles following his trade to the Clippers.

Green already has some familiarity with the team after playing with Doc Rivers and Paul Pierce in Boston, as well as Cole Aldrich in Oklahoma City. Plus, from years in the league, he’s already built a relationship with some of his new teammates.

As he continues to grow accustomed to his new surroundings, Green answered some questions from Clippers fans, which were submitted on Facebook and Twitter using “#LACmailbag” after the question.

Here are Green’s answers. (Note: Questions may be edited for grammar, brevity or clarity.)

Lowell Smith Jeff, how do you feel about playing alongside Chris Paul and the leadership he brings to the team? #LACmailbag

JG – “I’ve been a fan of CP’s since his Wake Forest and New Orleans days, just watching him play. It’s not every day you can play with one of the best guards in this league. He makes the game easy for everybody else, so I’m looking forward to continuing to get better and hopefully be on the floor with him a lot more.”

Spencer Prescod – What’s your favorite food?

JG – “Pizza. Pepperoni pizza, light sauce. Not before games, though. That’s more of an off day type of thing.”

Joshuwa Gensemer – Are you happy to be reunited with Paul Pierce? #LACmailbag

JG – “He’s a champion. It’s rare that you get to play with a guy of his caliber in your career. I was blessed enough now to have played with him multiple times and to learn from him and pick his brain and see what he’s been through throughout the league. If you look at his track record, the guy’s done it all. It’s an honor to play alongside him again.”

Jarrod Young (@jarrodyoung23) – How have you improved your game since playing with Paul Pierce in Boston?

JG – “It might sound weird, but being more aggressive and more assertive. When I first got with Doc in Boston, I came out of a situation where I was more passive. He wanted me to be more assertive and to be more aggressive to shoot. I think now I’ve developed the mentality of being that. I’m still a team-first guy, but he doesn’t have to tell me to shoot now.”

Zane (@notyetzane) – How does it feel to be back under Doc Rivers?

JG – “It’s great. The history we have together, it was great. To be with him again is fun. I enjoyed the time we spent together in Boston. To be able to play again, I think it’s a good thing.”
