The Orlando Magic defeated the Miami Heat, 81-68, in the Orlando Summer League at Amway Center on Sunday.
Orlando (1-1) had a disappointing outing in their opener, but this was one of the most dominating wins in the Summer League thus far. In fact, Miami (0-2) trailed by double-digits for 30 minutes of this game in wire-to-wire fashion, as Orlando led by 23 points at one point in time. It was all downhill in the first quarter, as the Magic took a 32-9 lead after the opening 10 minutes. Defense was key for Orlando, as they held Miami to 30 percent shooting, while winning the rebounding battle, 42-33.
Jonathan Issac was the player of the game for Orlando, as he tallied 15 points and 13 rebounds on 7-of-12 shooting from the field. Marcus Georges-Hunt amassed 12 points and seven rebounds. Derrick Walton Jr. led the bench with 13 points, three rebounds and three assists.
Okaro White led Miami in minutes and points, as he provided 15 points and six rebounds in 33 minutes of action. London Perrantes accumulated 12 points, three rebounds and eight assists. Bam Adebayo fell just shy of a double-double, totaling 14 points, nine rebounds, two steals and two blocks.
Both teams return to action on Monday, as the Magic play the Dallas Mavericks and the Heat face off with the Indiana Pacers.
