Poland (79) vs. Russia (74) (Group I)

4th Quarter Update: Poland leads Russia 72-68 with just one minute to play in this one. Mikhail Kulagin of Russia leads all scorers with 21 while Adam Waczynski and Mateusz Ponitka have combined for 30 for Poland.

FINAL: Poland becomes the 1st team to start off the Second Round 1-0 as they win to Russia in a close one, 79-74. Adam Waczynski and Mateusz Ponitka powered Poland behind 32 pts combining to go 18-19 from the free throw line. Mikahil Kulagin led all scorers with 21 pts. Poland will face Argentina in their next match while Russia awaits Venezuela.

Serbia (90) vs. Puerto Rico (47) (Group J)

3rd Quarter Update: Serbia opened up a big lead behind the play of Nemanja Bjelica and Nikola Jokic. Bjelica leads all scorers with 16 pts (5-9) in just 13 minutes of action. Jokic has already secured his double-double with 14 pts & 10 reb. David Huertas has poured in 11 pts for Puerto Rico as we head to the final quarter.

FINAL: Serbia starts the Second Round off with a win improving their overall record at the FIBA World Cup to 4-0. The NBA talent of Nemanja Bjelica (Kings), Nikola Jokic (Nuggets) and Boban Marjanovic (Mavericks) combined for 48 pts on just 7 missed field goals to propel Serbia. 2nd Quarter Update: Argentina take a 38-25 lead into the half behind Gabriel Deck’s 10 pts.

3rd Quarter Update: Argentina is looking to go 1-0 in the Second Round as they take a 63-47 lead into the 4th quarter. Gabriel Deck & Luis Scola are leading Argentina with a combined 27 pts & 7 reb. Michael Carrera has 19 pts for Venezuela as they look to fight back in the 4th quarter.

FINAL: Argentina improves to 4-0 in tournament play and 1-0 in the Second round with an 87-67 win over Venezuela. Gabriel Deck led all scorers with 25 pts as Argentina shot 70% 2-pt land as a team. Michael Carrera finished as the high man for Venezuela with 19 pts. Argentina will face Poland in their final Second Round game while Venezuela takes on Russia.

Spain (67) vs. Italy (60) (Group J)

1st Quarter Update: This one is all tied up at 18 after the 1st quarter. Ricky Rubio and Juancho Hernangomez combined for 9 pts to power Spain. Marco Belinelli & Danilo Gallinari also scored 9 pts to lead Italy.

2nd Quarter Update: Italy is leading Spain 31-30 at the half. Oklahoma City Thunder forward Danilo Gallinari is leading all scorers with 10 pts. San Antonio Spur is doing a little bit of everything with 4 pts, 4 reb & 3 ast. The Hernangomez brothers have combined for 8 pts and 5 reb at the half.

3rd Quarter Update: Spain jumps out to a 2-pt lead as we head to the final 10 minutes. Denver Nugget Juancho Hernangomez leads all scorers with 14 pts on 6-8 shooting from the field. Danilo Gallinari is carrying the load for Italy as he has 12 pts, 4 reb, 2 ast & 2 stl.

FINAL: Spain kept their perfect record in the FIBA World Cup as they topped Italy, 67-60. Juancho Hernangomez and Ricky Rubio combined for 31 pts as Spain improves to 1-0 in the Second Round. Italy, led by Danilo Gallinari’s 15 pts & 5 reb is now 0-1 in the Second Round. Undefeated Spain will face undefeated Serbia in their final game of the Second Round as their try to secure a spot in the semifinals. Italy will take on Puerto Rico in their finals Second Round game.

Classification Round (Places 17-32)

Nigeria (83) vs. Cote d’Ivoire (66) (Group M)

FINAL: Al-Farouq Aminu and Ekpe udoh combined for 26 points while shooting 11-16 from the from the floor to lead Nigeria in the Classification Round. Deon Thompson of Cote d’Ivoire led all scorers with 19.

Angola (62) vs. Iran (71) (Group N)

FINAL: Iran topped Angola in the Classification round Mohammadsamad Nikkhahbahrami poured in 21 to lead Iran. Former Sun, Hamed Haddadi, tallied 9 points in Iran’s rin. Angola was led by Carlos Morais’ 17 pts.

China (77) vs. Korea (73) (Group M)

1st Quarter Update: China holds a tight one-point lead after the 1st quarter. Rui Zhao is off to a perfect start from the field shooting 2/2 from inside the arc and 1/1 from behind the arc. Guna Ra & Junghyun Lee of Korea have each scored 7 points.

2nd Quarter Update: China holds a 3-pt lead at the half, 35-32. Former NBA player Yi Jianlian has 4 pts for China.

3rd Quarter Update: Former Houston Rocket, Zhou Qi has 7 pts and 9 reb as China takes a 2-pt lead into the 4th quarter. Guna Ra is leading all scorers with 20 pts.

FINAL: China evens their FIBA World Cup record at 2-2 with a 77-73 win over Korea, whose tournament record drops to 0-4. Zhou Qi powers China with a 13-pt, 14-reb double-double. Guna Ra for Korea, led all scorers with 21 pts while adding 12 reb. China will face Nigeria while Korea takes on Cote d’Ivoire in their finals games of the Second Round.

Tunisia (86) vs. Philippines (67) (Group N)

1st Quarter Update: Tunisia jumped out to a 25-10 lead as Dallas Maverick Salah Mejri scored 6 pts on 3/4 shooting from the field.
