CLEVELAND — LeBron James is swinging with the Indians this October.
The Cavaliers superstar, who ended Cleveland’s 52-year championship drought in June, has been sending positive messages on social media to the Indians, who host the Boston Red Sox in the American League Division Series. James can’t make the opener on Thursday night because his wife, Savannah, has a commitment, but he plans to be at Progressive Field on Friday for Game 2.
James posted a message to the Indians on Instagram, writing: “Light it up tonight, boys!! Tribe has us feeling some type of way in October.”
The three-time champion grew up rooting for the New York Yankees, and he drew heavy criticism in 2007 for wearing their cap to a playoff game in Cleveland. But he’s fully behind the Indians and was at their game on Aug. 20, when they rallied and won on a game-ending, inside-the-park homer.
