LeBron and Cavs too much for Carmelo and Knicks

The Cleveland Cavaliers (8-1) snuck away with a vicotry against the New York Knicks (4-6) after a hard fought battle at the Garden. This was the eighth win in a row for the Cavs, after losing their season opener.

New York held the lead going into the fourth quarter and it was only with two minutes left that the Cavs managed to tie it up. LeBron led the way in the Cavs' late rally and Mo Williams sealed the deal with four clutch free throws.

New York had a good game but could not come up clutch in crunch time to secure the lead. Carmelo Anthony did his best impression of himself, scoring 26 points on 9-20 shooting, including 4-8 from deep. Carmelo also added five rebounds and four assists. Kristaps Prozingis remained consistent and finished with 11 points and seven rebounds on 5-11 shooting, including some sweet post work against the Cavs interior. Arron Afflalo put in some good work in his second start for the Knicks, scoring 14 points, three rebounds and four assists. Jose Calderon was steady at the point guard position with 10 points on 4-5 shooting, 2-2 from deep, two rebounds, two asssits and three steals.

LeBron James led the way for the Cavs with a huge 31 points on 12-21 shooting. James added six assists, three rebounds, two steals and one block as he did everything to ensure his team would come out with the W on Friday night. James got good helpl from his old partner-in-crime, Mo Williams, who chipped in 20 points on 7-13 shooting. Kevin Love was quiet offensively but along with his seven points, grabbed 11 rebounds, two assists and one steal. Timofey Mozgov went 4-5 from the field, totalling 11 points, along with seven rebounds, in 26 minutes. Kyrie Irving and Iman Shumpert were still missing from the line-up and one can only imagine how much they will add to this team when they return.

There will be no rest for the Cavs as they head to Milwaukee for a Saturday evening game, where they will look to continue their winning ways against the feisty Bucks. New York will be Hosting New Orleans on Sunday and will have to stay focused to get the win against the struggling Pelicans
