Larry Nance: Tallies 11 points off bench Friday

The 23-year-old turned in his second solid effort in as many games, and has encouragingly shot better than 50 percent (7-for-13) over the first pair of exhibition tilts. Nance opens the preseason as Julius Randle’s primary backup at the four, while also slotting behind starter Luol Deng and No. 2 pick Brandon Ingram at small forward. Given the Lakers’ emerging depth, Nance doesn’t figure to see much uptick, if any at all, from the 20.1 minutes he averaged over 63 games (22 starts) last season. As he demonstrated in his rookie campaign, he’s capable of providing some serviceable scoring and rebounding numbers when given the opportunity, but the minutes don’t currently project to be there for him to make a significant fantasy impact.
