Aldridge sat out the preseason opener Monday against the Suns, but looked spry Saturday in his debut, delivering a quality stat line in limited minutes. The power forward unsurprisingly saw his role decline upon joining a deeper Spurs roster last season, but he seemed to hit his stride in the playoffs, highlighted by an average of 26.8 points per game during the team’s six-game series loss to the Thunder. He’ll now face the adjustment of playing alongside Pau Gasol, a more offensive-minded presence than previous starting center Tim Duncan, who opted to retire this summer.
