The Brooklyn Nets will have to wait a little longer to see Kyrie Irving on the floor with the team.
According to the Nets, Irving is expected to miss the Nets’ first preseason game on Friday (7:30 ET, NBA TV) as he recovers from facial fractures under his eye.
Irving suffered the injury last week while working out with his teammates. He wore a protective mask during training camp on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old guard joined the Nets this offseason after playing two seasons with the Boston Celtics.
