How It Happened:
Brandon Jennings provided the Madison Square Garden a taste of his creativity when the point guard increased the pace in the third frame and ignited the home team to a 39-point third quarter. Clinging to a one-point advantage at the half, New York blitzed the visiting Nets in the third frame and never looked back in the 116-98 victory. Chasson Randle enjoyed a nice third quarter as well and the Knicks found some offensive rhythm to help secure the win while moving to 1-1 in preseason play.
Knick of the Night:
Jennings was electric in the third quarter but Randle shined once again for the Knicks. The rookie scored 11 of his 14 points in the crucial period while connecting on 2-of-3 from downtown. In fact, Randle is an impressive 4-of-6 behind the arc this preseason.
Stat of the Night:
New York shot the ball incredibly well in Saturday’s win. The orange and blue sunk 54 percent of its shots from the field and registered a 44 percent clip from the 3-point line.
News and Notes:
Joakim Noah was sidelined for his second consecutive game due to a sore hamstring. Derrick Rose also missed the contest, which led to Jennings in the starting lineup and Marshall Plumlee at the center spot.
