The game was a tight one the whole way, highlighted by the play of all-stars Carmelo Anthony and John Wall. Bradley Beal also had a stellar performance that if he could maintain would surely put him in serious all-star contention.

The Knicks star Carmelo Anthony poured in 37 points on sizzling 11-18 shooting, 4-5 from three point land. Melo played a good 35 minutes and did a lot of damage in a relatively short amount of time demanding the ball on many possessions. Robin Lopez did a good job protecting the paint with two blocked shots and eight rebounds, which is all the Knicks need him to do. Rookie Kristraps Porzingis started once again, looking comfortable shooting 3-6 from the field, 2-2 from the free throw line and pulling down a respectable six rebounds.

For the Wizards it was the deadly duo of John Wall and Bradley Beal who scored a combined 51 points, 25 from Wall and 26 from Beal. Despite his scoring it was uncharacteristic of John Wall to have only four assists and almost just as many turnovers, with three. Drew Gooden continued his great impact on the team from last years playoffs until now with 11 rebounds and 11 points in 24 minutes off the bench. Finally Otto Porter Jr. has been looking more and more like a future star lately and did it again tonight with 16 points on 7-13 shooting and nine rebounds.

The Knicks now head home and have a day of rest before hosting San Antonio on Monday, while the Wizards have three days off before the Spurs come to town.
