Outscored 17-4 on the break and 30-12 in the paint, Sacramento was unable to build any momentum in its opening game in Las Vegas.
The Kings quickly found themselves trailing by double digits as the Raptors went on a 21-9 run to end the first quarter. Skal Labissiere scored five of his seven points in the opening frame, displaying impressive athleticism and range, finishing an and-one and drilling a three-pointer.
Sactown mustered just seven points in the ensuing quarter though, falling behind by 22 at the half. The team wouldn’t get closer, eventually falling 88-47 after a 24-point second half.
Willie Cauley-Stein, Malachi Richardson and Labissiere led the team, scoring seven points each.
Richardson showcased his ability to create early, sinking his first field goal, but ending with just six shots on the night. Skal, deemed as a top-ten draft talent early in 2015, displayed his abilities on both sides of the court in 22 minutes of play. The No. 28 selection totaled seven points, eight rebounds and two blocks.
The team will be back in action versus the Houston Rockets on Sunday at 3:30 pm.
