A first half dominated by Sactown saw the home team build an impressive 21-point advantage after two quarters. DeMarcus Cousins led with 22 points on 6-of-9 field goals in just 16 minutes of play, while the entire team shot 59 percent overall. At the half, the team had accumulated 18 assists on 26 made field goals.

After three quarters, the Kings held a 102-86 lead, but were outscored 38-33 in the frame.

The final quarter shifted the momentum in Los Angeles’ favor, though, as the rival from the south went on 16-4 run to bring the game within four and eventually took the lead with three minutes remaining.

To the Kings credit credit, they rebounded from the massive Lakers run to regain the lead on the ensuing possession. The teams traded points from then on, until Rajon Rondo hit a clutch floater with 22 seconds remaining to seal the win for Sacramento.

  • During the majority of the Lakers run, Boogie was forced to sit due to five fouls. Despite the foul trouble, DMC drew a clutch charge with just over one minute remaining. The All-Star ended the night with 29 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists.
  • Rondo recorded his fourth straight 10-plus assist game and 22nd overall.
  • Quincy Acy was one off of his career-high with 18 points. He finished 8-of-9 from the floor.

The Kings will now face the Golden State Warriors at Sleep Train Arena on Saturday night. Fans wishing to view the game can watch via CSN California or listen on Sports 1140 KHTK at 7:00 pm PST.
