Kenneth Faried: Plays just 15 minutes in Monday’s loss

After averaging 29 minutes per game off the bench in the first two games to start the season, Faried’s demotion to an off the bench role wasn’t looking that bad. However, he spent the vast majority of Monday’s loss on the bench, and the pairing of young big men Jusuf Nurkic and Nikola Jokic has been working well together. Given that Faried doesn’t help with floor spacing nor protect the rim, he seems mostly relegated to a role as the backup power forward. It’s possible there will still be plenty of minutes to go around on most nights, but the days of Faried being a double-double machine appear to be numbered unless there’s an injury or a trade on the horizon.
